About TechX
TechX is a technology lab located on Louisiana Tech University’s campus. Built and run as the result of a partnership between Louisiana Tech and General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), TechX offers students in every major the opportunity to teach themselves new skills and gain hands-on experience with industry-grade hardware and software.
Mission
Our mission is to align technology industry standards to university curriculum and promote interdisciplinary cyber knowledge and skills through training, research, and hands-on experience with next-generation technology. Our goal is to foster student engagement and promote a venue for student engagement integral to growth of exceptional cybersecurity professionals with expertise in various disciplines.
Power of TechX
As futuristic technologies become the new reality and the Internet of Things (IoT) continues to grow, we equip students in technology fields with practical experience and skills to increase their workforce readiness at graduation. Our focus is to prepare graduates in cybersecurity, computer science, computer information systems, information assurance, application development, big data, and cloud technology to be successful in the cyber world and innovate the technology of tomorrow.
We provide students and faculty an open working environment with easy access to customizable Virtual Machines (VMs). Using industry-leading technologies, students can learn and build skill-sets relevant to their classwork and careers. Through the lab’s systems, students can display and present ideas to colleagues, encouraging student collaboration. Our wide variety of hardware and software enables students to complete tasks from simple coding to exploring the future of IoT.
